Um...no. It IS wrong, however (or more just plain stupid) to blame the fast food companies for your child's weight problems.
People only think things like that are bad because they don't have the cohones to tell their kid 'no' sometimes.

No, they influence family decisions but the parent decides. Parents who don't know how to say no are more of a problem than kids who ask. Fast food isn't any worse than slow food and no decent parent lets children decide they will live on desert so will approve only what they allow their child to have.

No, because children aren't the ones paying for fast food. Parents make those decisions, and that responsibility doesn't go away because of an advertisement. If their kids get fat eating fast food, it is ONLY the parents fault for that happening.

The simple answer is no, and this is why.

We live in free market economy in which people can CHOSE what products they support and want to buy. Targeting advertisement towards children is designed to get them interested in a product so that they can ask their parents to buy it for them. This is no different than the millions of other targeted advertisements out there.

As the parent (I have three children by the way), it is my decision to either buy the product for my child or not to buy it. If my child throws a fit if I do not buy it, it is than again my responsibility as the parent to correct the situation.

People chose fast food because it’s both “cheap and easy”, meaning they can get in and get out with very little expense. Kids enjoy fast food because of the toy they receive with their meals.

If more parents acted like parents and less like babysitters, this would not be an issue.

Define "wrong".

Does it harm the child and their future family? Of course. (consider cigarette advertising)

Does it result in more long term profits? Of course. (consider cigarette advertising)

Does it result in the the goal of separating the fool and his money? Of course.

So... it all depends upon your definition of "wrong".

No it is not wrong to advertise about fast food as this also one type of business and the people who are running it want more and more sales to happen. It is their source of income. IT is upto the parents they can control their childer from eating these thing but it is wong to blame companies for it.
