Is this a scam...Craigslist housekeeping ad.?
Your Question
Is this a scam...Craigslist housekeeping ad?
So about two weeks ago I saw an ad on craigslist asking for an housekeeper and I responded I got an answer from this woman named Lisa and she told me that I got the job and all I would have to do is tell her my name and address for her to pay me and I stupidly did and she sent me a $2000 check telling me I have to send 1,800 to her painter through Western Union and then keep 500 and then she's going to send me the address of her house for me to clean it.now I haven't deposited the check on my bank account because I feel a bit fishy about this check.it says it's from wuertemberger dairy LLC which I look up and it's on google which probably means it's real.I'm just wondering why didn't she interview me or hasn't given me the Address for the house.plus she said she got an alert the check was deposited and I know she's lying cuz I haven't deposited it.i just want to know if this is a scam.plus the person Adress I have to put on the western union that it's being sent
to is an Oregon Address, like how do you have a painter working for you in New York but he lives in Oregon.this is all too confusing
If it is a scam what should I do with the check and the lady

the check is 100% fake
it can bounce up to a month later,,, and guess what,,, you are out the money you sent
you need to never look at craigslist again for any job,,, do you understand? it's the scamville of all scamvilles
if you want a job, you need to go to local fast food place or grocery stores and apply
online nothing but scams,,, you have a lot to learn

i'm thinking of running this scam,,, seems like people just keep falling for anything they read on craigslists,, ,how trusting can people be?

Of course it's a scam.
Would any sane person send a total stranger a check for $2000. and ask them to pay their painter. They would send any money they owed to their painter to the painter.

it's a fake check and money laundering scam
Turn the check, the envelope and copies of all emails over to the police

And since these criminals know where you live since you gave them your home address before you ever met at HER home to verify she was real, so they do not threaten you and your family for not sending the money, wait a day, then write back to say that you tried to cash the check but your bank said it was counterfeit and turned it over to their fraud team for investigation. Say that you will not accept any more checks from her and if she still wants to employ you, then you need to be paid IN CASH afte you work

NOBODY hires a housekeeper they have never met in person. Would you invite a stranger off Craigslist into your home? Of course not. And it is illegal for her to send you a check from a dairy if you were not an employee of the dairy.

Luckily you didn't cash the check - you would be facing felony bank fraud charges as the check is over $2000. And if you sent money through Western Union you would be guilty of felony money laundering. And why would anyone ask a housekeeper they've never met to pay a painter? They would pay the painter in cash or send him a check directly

Craigslist is bad bad news,Scammers by the dozens.9 out of ten replies are scammers.Of course this is a scam When advertising on Craigslist never deal in checks or money orders.Actually I would,if at all possible, stay away from Craiglist.Take it from me,I know.Report it to Craigslist and turn the check over to the states attorneys office,He will know what to do with it.

first count on this being a scam. take the check to the bank it is drawn on, or if that bank is not near you, call that bank and try to verify if the check is real or good for the money. report this to the authorities (local police).
keep in mind the sign of a scam is having to pay money for something you normally would not pay money for. these scams work at many levels. for example, once a couple befriended a person and eventually offered that person a piece of jewelry for free, and also asked that person to buy another piece of the same jewelry for a large amount of money. clue here was that the couple wanted to accompany that person to the bank to get the money. scam.

Dont do anything with the check, just throw it out (or if you want to have fun tell her to keep sending it because you didn't receive it lol). This describes the scam http://www.justtext.com/scams/fake-money...-scam.html
