Why not start asking friends you do still have contact with if they know where your other friend moved to, or do they know people who know them.

Ask around with people you know, if you were to google my proper name you would find dozens of the same.

In fact I have personally known 4 Stephen King' and if I googled it, some geezer in America that writes books comes up, so none of the ones I know.
