Update IE from windows update? IE is on version 10 now I think.

Start - All Programs - Windows Update

Say yes to 95% of other things they want to install too, they are important

Well im going to say what a lot of people are going to say, Firefox and Chrome is far more superior when it comes down to every day browsing and I would like to tell you why I think this

Well with Chrome and Firefox you have the option of adding custom addons to the browser to enhance your browsing experience such as Adblock - This will block all the ads on the left and right of the webpages and also kill the ads that play on the front of youtube videos (This is an amazing feature) Also Chrome and Firefox all have Developer builds you can use that are more private and it will not send your data to google or any other places trying to sell your info

BUT if youe IE keeps crashing I would recommend Uninstalling and Re-Installing IE this is how

Click the Start button, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.

Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

Click one of the following:

Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9 and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).

Restart later

To Reinstall

Go to the Download Internet Explorer 9 webpage.

Select the language you want to install and your version of Windows, and then click Download.

In the File Download dialog box, click Run, and then, in the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

Click one of the following:

Restart now (recommended) (to finish the installation process now).

Restart later

I used to use IE. After finding google chrome, I realized how much it sucks. I highly reccomend chrome. Crashes less, faster, add ons and themes and better ui (in my opinion).
