flyers still work for a brick and mortar store, but the bad news is it takes a long time of concentrated delivery to get people to remember you and call you.

you might try going into some apartment, townhome, condo communities as your delivery times will be reduced and your coverage area would be consistent

you should also build or have a site built that you can geographically target your customers with Googles help...which they are leaning towards local search results more

also do not trust someone to deliver your flyers from CL, as most of them are scammers now...a friend had someone from there supposedly deliver flyers ...they took the flyers threw them away, waited a few hours and collected their money...the friend got ZERO calls

Forget Flyers cost to much.....advertise on both Craigslist and Backpage for F.R.E.E.

You can post 3 ads per day only and in 3 diffrent cities around you....if you post both in Craigslist and Backpage daily....you should have plenty of replies.........
