are parents killing facebook?

i notice something nearly every young adult or teen all seem to have parents on their facebook friends list.
this would make things more awkward since you can really go into much detail about your life like posting pictures of yourself getting drunk or anything like that.
a while ago i read a study saying Facebook users are starting to decline now a days i am wondering is this because people don't really have the privacy they originally had.
facebook was originally created for people who wanted to keep in touch with friends lives and now it is kinda a way to stalk people without getting into trouble it is also a way for parents to spy on their own kids and course for most people they usually act different around family and friends.
so do you think now that everyone is using facebook that it is kinda less popular now.

Most of the teenagers don't use Facebook (at my school). Yes. You got it. It's because of "old" people.
Teenagers feel like they don't have privacy anymore. Most parents have Facebook nowadays and they feel obliged to have their kids as "friends" to check on them.
Some teenagers are annoyed by this and quit.

facebook started by being popular with adults, not kids - it was originally developed to be used only by people who were at least college age (18+)

kids just found out about it later, and considered it "theirs"

Sure....blame the parents. Don't blame the kids who think it's cool to post pictures of themselves getting drunk or high so the world can see it.

If kids and even young adults would actually think about what some of these posts and pictures will look like to their employers or colleges they attend (or want to attend), they may think twice before posting.

Parents need to be aware of what their kids are doing when they go on line. That's called being a good parent, not spying. If the kid knows a parent is on the friends list, then it's not spying.

Young adults should have a bit more privacy, which is why they have privacy settings, however, it's still not a good idea to post ridiculous things like comments about the latest drunken/drug laced parties they attended and reinforcing the posts with pictures.

A rule to follow would be that if you are too embarrassed to have your parents read your posts and view some pictures, they shouldn't be posted because they will probably be looked down upon by others in the future.
