Which camera should I buy my girlfriend?
I was thinking about the Samsung Galaxy Camera because they're saying it's the most Technologically advanced Camera on the Market .. My Girlfriend is a Die hard photographer. Instagram is basically her life. I don't know which camera she has but I know it's a Canon & is 14 Megapixels. Now I've had a friend tell me that the Camera Quality is just like the phone I have (Galaxy Note 2)&that I shouldnt pay that much for only 2MP more. & that I can get her something better for much cheaper than the $400 they're selling it for. Like a Nikon at target which is 24MP & $200. But no other camera has the User Interface that the Galaxy Camera does. I'm stuck. Suggestions?

Canon EOS-M? It seems pretty easy to use and is in your price range.

If she already has a Canon DSLR then I'd skip the Samsung. If anything I'd buy her a lens for her DSLR rather then buying her a new camera all together.

The newer Canon DSLR's really aren't any better image quality wise then the recent older models. Also as for your girlfriends DSLR. Canon never made a 14mp sensor. In the past they made a 12 and 15mp sensor. Currently they have an 18mp crop sensor.

Canon's T1i had a 15mp sensor and the T3 had a 12mp sensor. Everything after the T1i and the T3 uses their 18mp sensor.

Nikon's D3100 uses a 14mp sensor.

As for lenses (if your girlfriend actually has a Canon) I'd buy the Canon 50mm 1.8

But if she does have a Nikon (just going by the 14mp number you posted) then I'd buy her

Its affordable and sharp. It will breath new life into her camera. Every photographer should have a 50mm lens.

A DSLR is a useful tool to someone who is passionate about photography. That Samsung camera is a hipster camera phone thing. Its a point and shoot peace of junk with a huge screen and mega zoom lens.

24MP in $ 200 will be a bit difficult. I suggest Sony DSC-HX50V/B as it is a great cam and it matches oyur requirements too. It is a 20.4MP Digital Camera with 3-Inch LCD Screen.
Here is a review of a professional photographer, i hope it will help your decision:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R3POY8TMHOQ...=arfdwh-20

It has 30x optical zoom plus 60x Clear Image Digital Zoom Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with 3-way active mode
It shoots 20.4MP images and high speed AF even in low-light
It can record Full HD 1080/60p video with dual record of stills and movies Full manual & dedicated EV control dial allow more creativity Capture the decisive moment with up to 10fps
Multi interface shoe attaches flash, light,
It has high resolution viewing and take stunning images with Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode-up to 360 Degree

A perfect cam to gift and a perfect upgrade in a very reasonable price.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 camera is ultra-compact. It's perfect for taking with you on hikes, travel, to parties, events, and for any type of photography.

Canon PowerShot G15 has the features of a larger digital SLR style camera in a smaller form factor. The zoom range is limited by not having interchangeable lenses, but that capability adds weight, size and, extra stuff to carry. This camera meets my need to have good quality images. The video capture is good also. If you have previously used a Canon camera the features buttons are the same as all the Canon line.
