Why is my Samsung Galaxy S4 SO SLOW?
I am with AT&T with 4G LTE, and even on wifi my GS4 takes forever to load email, webpages on Google Chrome, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
It also takes 5 seconds to take a screenshot. Even compared to iPhone 4S it is slow.

Does anyone else have this problem or is my phone defective?
(Yes, it is like this even if I turn all the apps off and go to one app)

either you have a defective.. seriously defective GS4 .......... or............. you have set it up with so much crud and bloatware that its even bogging down the CPU and RAM of a GS4............... or you lack propoer phone maintanence education.

reboot the phone. Work now? If not, get Watchdog, go to 3rd tab, and see what apps are killing your RAM. It should be at 10-30% usage and 90-70% idle.. maybe even as low as 60% idle...see what is chewing upi your RAM.... then edit the settings of that app.

if you have no idea what im takling about.... then just Factory reset it.... after it reboots itself, log into it again and download nothing or set up nothing... if it is still slow, get it replaced... if not, slowy installed your apps again.... still fast?... if yes, slowing setup your apps and widgets... keep doing this until you feel it getting slow again.. and see what app or setting you just did made it slow and uninstall that 1 stupid app.

It shouldnt be getting slow. I have no idea whats on or running on the phone. i can only guess.

There are a variety of reasons why your phone is so slow.
1) You have too many applications installed on your phone - as the storage space on your device fills up, the phone becomes slower and slower. Having as much free space available as possible will solve the issue if this is the problem.
2) There are too many applications/processes running in the background - You may have opened up too many apps or your phone may be running things in the background that you don't even know about. Try closing all open applications AND clearing your RAM (both of these options can be found under your task manager, although the 'Clear RAM' option is sometimes hidden a bit.
3) The software on your device may be outdated - Samsung and Android sometimes release software updates that help to speed things up. Check for updates for your phone by going to your settings and finding the 'software updates' option.

If none of these options work, contact Samsung and outline your problem to them. They may suggest alternative fixes or replace the phone if necessary.

number one because you have at&t (in my opinion verizon is my choice). Here is what you do i made my unbelievably fast doing this. First root it and go to the play store and download "No-frills CPU Control" and set the minimum to 1566 MHz and the max to 1890 MHz and put the Governor to performance and hit apply the download root cleaner and do full cleaning. there you go fast as possible. if you dont want to do that then i recommend that you download clean master.
