Internet Explorer 9 not responding?
I recently had a virus on my Windows Vista computer. It was called Windows Ultimate Booster. I got rid of it and I cleaned my computer with Microsoft essentials and malwarebytes. I clicked on internet explorer and my homepage which is Google came up just fine. But when I tried going to a website, nothing came up because it was either loading or it would not let me do anything. I even tried downloading another browser but it would not let me leave the search results, even if I right clicked it would not bring up any options. I deleted everything on internet explorer such as history, saved passwords, cookies, etc. Can anyone help me fix this problem.

Fine, but did you bother to check your security settings in Internet Options? and the connection options.

You still have not completely cleared whatever infected your computer. It is preventing you from going anywhere. That is why even installing a different browser did not help.

Try going to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and looking for a file called "host". Open that file using Notepad and clear out everything in it. See if that will allow you to get to the Internet.

That happened to me too, just uninstall internet explorer (go to control panel>programs and features>on the upper left hand corner you will see View installed updates, scroll down or type internet explorer and uninstall it. Now if you have another computer that has a USB port that you can insert a flash drive that is great or go to your local library. You can choose any browser you want but for example google chrome. Got to google chromes website, click download and make sure to save not run. Once it has finished insert your flash drive and go to downloads on your computer and move the file downloaded onto your flash drive. Make sure it is not a shortcut of the file. Insert the flash drive into your computer and install google chrome, that should do it. The reason I didn't reinstall internet explorer was because it still had the same problem. Hope this helps.
