My mac isnt working, help!?

My mac isnt working. It turns on and everything is working fine. But whenever I try to open stuff (safari firefox minecraft games apps etc) it doesnt load at all and its been doing this for a while now. It was working perfectly when we moved our new motom downstairs but my idiotic dad decided to move it far away into his room on top of a high HIGH shelf so his room has full bars for internet and the other rooms have one. But do you think its the internet connection or is my mac just acting weird please help and thank you
