Why did yahoo answers change it's format?
It's been almost a year since I've been in the yahoo answers section. I'm like, what the #$%$ happened? This is crazy. They completely changed it. I loved the old version, but this new one is suck. I don't understand why they changed it. Was there something wrong with the old one? This one is a little bit confusing. Are they ever going to change it back? I doubt it. But this one ridiculous.

The new format has two advantages for them:
1. It increases advertising revenue by requiring a lot more clicks (page views) to navigate. 2. It highlights other Yahoo products like News, Weather, Finance, etc. The new format has a few desirable features like being able to auto imbed media like YouTube and to see who gave you a thumbs up. But overall, it is not as functional as the green format. |

Many loved the old version, even with all the glitches. However, all websites have to update. There were several reasons Yahoo did this.
1. To better work with ads and the people paying the bills. 2. To work better on mobile devices. 3. To add features users requested (have you found them?) 4. To use newer software. 5. To look more like Facebook, etc They will not be going back, but they do keep updating it. It is actually a bit faster to use once you try it for a while. |

What happened is that Marissa a Mayer is now in the driver's seat of Yahoo as CEO of Yahoo Inc. If you think Yahoo is looking more an more like Google, there's a very good reason WHY. Marissa A. Mayer was 5th from the top in the Google management chin of command at Google When the Yahoo major stock holder's recruited her to become CEO of Yahoo.
