Why purposely including specific keywords in articles, blogs etc. for SEO?
I understand for SEO purposes, articles, blogs, comments etc need to be written with the link to your website in the resource box. I also understand that specific keywords need to be written on all pages of your website so searchers for those keywords will quickly find your website. However, why is it necessary to put specific keywords in articles, blogs etc? Does the backlink to your website not suffice for SEO? Thanks in advance
Thank you all for your reply!

So if I understand correctly, the reason why keyswords in articles, blogs are important aside to keywords on your site: is because the combination of the backlink to your website on blogs, articles etc. + the keywords on blogs, articles etc. create more value (vote) for your website, which means it will rank higher.

So this is not to rank the article or blog itself higher, the keywords will only help the website. I can't imagine how to rank an article higher in the SERPS, since this is a one time written article. Unlike a website, you dont modify or work on an article after that.

Is there any way how to rank a specific article higher in the SERPS?

Links from more highly relevant pages tend to get more search rank respect, as well as capturing more people interested in that keyword the ultimate target page is discussing.

Though some sites get more search traffic from non-reoccurring, obscure long tail keywords, using specifically targeted keywords is useful for site rank trend checks and more meaningful than general page rank.

there are all kinds of reasons why, and it is a constantly changing target

there is one newsletter (email) that i read every week and don't skip anything in it. it is from the people at Axandra

http://www.axandra.com/

Sign up for the newsletter, it is free and they don't bug you with buying their products...but i find the info of extremely high value as they get it from the main source

they are not like some you read, which is mostly speculation and not worthy of your time

Adding specific keywords will allow search engines to index your site faster and rank better in the search engines. Yes, your backlinks will also work, but your keywords, particularly those that have undergone proper research will be a lot helpful if you want your site to get noticed too. Plus, these will be the words that searches will type in when they search for something, and if possible you have to be on hand with these keywords so you'll come out in the search pages.

Keywords are a must if your going to get traffic period.............Use the free Google Key Word tool and see how many people searched a key word.

Key words if on your article or blog and it's ranking is high then it will show up on the first page of a search....if not then it will be burried among the other 2 million or so pages...

The higher your rankings using key words the better............

Keywords are a must.........

hello!
the thing is that Google can also analyze the context. this is why you need to make sure that you backlinks are in the relevant context. otherwise Google will assign low value to your links.
good luck!

Please understand
1) Link means vote
2) Keywords means context of vote

Now Google ranks you for votes (popularity) and also for the context (popular for what) ... so you need to mix both in the right way.

It is all to do with who you want to read the article. You will have to use the keywords you think someone willing to read your article or post will type in the search engines, using the right keywords you will bring only readers interested in your post. There are plenty of resources online where you can find information about this and optimise your posts, http://www.seomoz.org/. Articles in pages with high authority will already rank for relevant keywords, but if you want to start building some authority for your page you will have to optimise your page in order to tell the search engines what your website and articles are about. Remember that search engines dont read articles the same way you do( They cant read images or media, so defining your keywords will give them extra information to index your posts.
