Question about how ebay works.?

I am just curious, if I choose to get an ebay store. When somebody purchases something, can I instantly use there money or is there a waiting period through pay pal?

Depends. If they pay via PayPal with check, you have to wait for it to clear (about 7 business days). If they pay via credit/debit card through PayPal then you get it instantly.

You get it instantly. Although if they use credit than it will take up to a week to process. I have been selling for 3 years and recently they gave me a run around about selling Oakleys at a discounted price. They froze my PayPal account and held $3,000 for 180 days. I do not recommend eBay because their fees are to high. I would reccomend iOffer, Amazon, Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace.

It is not uncommon (in fact it is getting pretty frequent these days), for ebay to slap a 21-day hold on your PayPal funds if you are a "newbie" seller and for the most trivial of reasons even if you are a seasoned veteran of the site. For this reason and the way small sellers are punished by ebay for low DSR ratings, I do not recommend ebay. Try Etsy, Bonanza, eBid. Nordstrom's is now collaborating with Etsy, so things will get very interesting in a very good way in the Etsy vs. ebay competition.

Make sure you sell enough on ebay in order to afford to pay for the store monthly plus all the fees that goes with listing items in it.

Being a new user you wont have the funds available to you until your buyers tracking number shows for 24 hours that your item is delivered. Only then will paypal release your money to you BEFORE 21 days.

Here is how to use your pending funds for shipping items out.

AFTER YOU GET PAID FOR THE AUCTION

EBAY DOES ALLOW YOU TO USE YOUR PENDING PAYPAL MONEY TO PRINT OUT AND PAY FOR SHIPPING LABELS.

Go into your ebay account into your MY EBAY page where your sold auction is, and click PRINT SHIPPING LABEL, there in that page after you put in all your information, when you go to the links choose which option to pay and print with, look at the one that has the words in the instructions PAY LATER. the option on the bottom of the other one asking you to use paypal. Then ebay will release up to $15.00 in your paypal account to allow you to print out your label with when you use that option. After your package is delivered a few later paypal will release your money to spend any way you want to.
