My friend is asking me if you caould sue CenturyLink?
Well, I thought it was a crazy idea, but im just asking to make sure.

For the past 3 yrs. his dad has been paying for a 40 Mbps router, and he checked his internet speed, and its only 0.13 Mbps. For the past 3 yrs. I have been going to his house, his internet is super slow, and it takes around 40 minutes for a 5 minute YouTube video to load. So I was wondering, could he sue them because they are ripping him off.

Not only that but he took video of himself asking CenturyLink why his speed is slower than what he is paying for, and they said there is nothing wrong, and that he is getting 40 Mbps. Well, I have a 32 Mbps router, and my speed is a lot faster than his.

We live in the outskirts of town, so we can only get broadband, and he lives closer to town than I do.

I don't think you can sue them, but you can make them fix the problem or ask for credit until it is fixed. Go to http://www.speedtest.net and take the speed test and see what's going on. you will have the information you need to argue the point. It also could be something in his computer causing a problem. I have gotten credit several times this year from my cable company.
