What to sell on eBay?
Basically, I am 15 years old and live in the UK. Since they do so much already I really hate asking my parents for money and have done for as long as I can remember. This has made an impact recently as I have lost numerous friends through turning down their invitations multiple times to go out somewhere, because I don't like to ask for money. An idea sprung to mind earlier about an eBay business but deciding what to sell is proving difficult. Would it be cheaper to sell handmade things rather than buy things at a bargain and sell them for a profit? I am good at arts and crafty things if that help. I need ideas please.

Your parents will have to underwrite it (that means they will have to be responsible for any losses as well as gains) for you until you are 18, as on the Internet, you are entering into a contract with people, and you cannot sign a contract until 18.

Also have a chat with your parents about what you should be spending (they will look at it from a different perspective to you) or what you could do to earn your keep?

But also ask them to set up a Paypal account for you, to sell stuff.

Http://Etsy.com is good for home made goods.

But first what things have you got from when you were younger that you no longer need or want, because selling them, to get money and clear junk and clutter from your house, is a good starting point, hence why car boot sales are so popular.

I have just sold a Games workshop box with figures for £52.50 on Ebay I picked it up for £5 at a Car boot, (someones junk) the bloke who has bought it is a dealer, and he will see a handsome profit from my handsome profit (good luck to him, he has seen a bargain that I have seen my profit on)

Have a look around at what your friends are buying, and that you think you could sell cheaper, then look at wholesale houses near you, and see what they sell that you think you could sell on at a profit.

First get the junk sold to get you some money in Paypal, then look at what to buy, you can either have the money paid into your parents bank and they give you the cash to go and buy goods (car boot or wholesaler) or some people just look for bargains on Ebay (like the bloke buying my G.Workshop stuff) and then resell them, the latter tend to be specialists who know their trade.

Car booting means getting up at 4 or 5 oclock on a Sunday morning.

Making things of your own would be a good way, but you need to production line them, so if you are doing one section (lets say a felt bird) then do twelve or twenty as it will be quicker than breaking off, then x amount of the next bit, and put them all together as a finishing part, usually a person can do at least 6 to 10 times as many in the same time as doing 2 or 3 seperately.

This is a web site for wholesaler and for ideas for things to buy and sell.

For Car boot sales google your local town or county + car boot sales and see what there is near you.

Ebay and Etsy, remember to get the price of postage, first and price it into your selling price along with packing, Ebay and Paypal fees.

And don't bother with an Ebay shop until you are making at least £40 per week profit, an Ebay shop is minimum £192 per year.and can be more than double that with extras.
