Samsung S3 or iPhone5?
Ok so I've always had an iPhone since 1st generation and I'm thinking about change. I've heard a lot of good things about the samsung S3, but I just don't know if I could ever leave my iPhone? Which one is ultimately better? I text a lot/listen to music/instagram.. take pictures.. thats about it. I would love a louder speaker and well i dont know ahaha. Thank you for your answer.

In my opinion, definitely iPhone5! I like how iPhones work in general better than the Samsung phones
It's just personal preference though

Excellent question!

For the tasks you mention, I would go with the Samsung S3.

Texting can be done via regular typing or swiping your fingers over the keys to create words.

Music sounds great on it and Instagram for Android is very smooth and easy to use.

The camera is 8MP and has a fantastically strong flash.

One other thing to consider is the brightness of the display. Since Samsung is also a maker of TVs, the Super-AMOLED screen is amazingly vibrant. YouTube clips can be viewed in HD. This also helps with texting because the bright display enables easy reading of texts. The font size can be adjusted to your comfort level.

The speakerphone is loud and clear! You can either manually start it or turn it on its face to activate it.

One more feature that differentiates it from the iPhone is facial unlock. You can train the S3 to recognize you in different settings. If you'd like an additional level of security, you can set an unlock pattern code that only you know.

Well an iphone sucks in every manner. Samsung s3 is best. But you have been using iphone from 1st generation so you must have invested a lot in iTunes and probably wont want to let it go waste. So iphone 5 will be ok. But you will miss the greatest mobile os ANDROID. ios and apple just suck heavily priced. Losers to s3 and htc one x. Ha ha

I have the exact same question... I have never had a smartphone before. From what i can read in different tests it seems as an overall tie between Samsung S3 (4g version) and Iphone 5. Some of my friends are fan of iphone and others the s3, so i dont know what to do. However I must say, that based on the specifications and the fact that s3 is more open (iphone having a locked system) + the positive upgrade of jelly bean (4.1) i think i will choose the s3. If i had an ipad and macbook, then ill probably buy iphone as they would work perfectly together, but i havent...

Iphone seems more like buying a specific smart identity. All iphone users love to flash their phone in front of others and be looked upon as apple users, which kind of scares me away.
