Why is my internet SO slow?
We just bought cable wireless internet which is connected to phone line etc. I tested the speed at speedtest and it said 1.3mb/s like a week, two weeks ago. I started watching movies, downloading some, but never at the same time. I watched a movie a couple of days ago, it bearly loaded. Yesterday I tried to watch a movie, sooooooo slow... my ping on speedtest ranges from 40-80 and takes forever to get a "connection". When it does, it takes about 2 minutes to show what is my DL speed. It is usually 0.10-0.22 mb/s.

What could pssibly slow my DL speed? Any suggestion is appreciated
Legit I am the only who is using the internet, my mother? dosent use it at all. Password problems? I am foreign using a password from my dads childhood..No password problems. I might contact my ISP those Telstra asssholes cant even provide proper speeds

Re-installing Windows might help.
Or try these:
1)Run>%temp%>Delete all the files
2)Run>Prefetch>Delete all the files
3)CMD>Tree
Thanks.

You most likely used up all of your gigabytes up. If that is the reason then you can contact whoever your internet provider is and you can upgrade and get a better plan.

I think you are a victim of Fair Usage Policies that some ISPs impose on you. Your Connection may be unlimited but the promised speed is not. For instance, they will give you 1mbps for first 10GB's or something and after you cross that limit, your connection speed will be reduced/downgraded.

You must contact your ISP to get idea about your plan.

Not sure exactly if you guys over there have Exchange boxes or similar to, sometimes being really far from that esp on a phone line is troublesome. Bad in bad weather, believe it or not Peak times is a bad time for cable and phone line customers, the main deal is, Are Telstra slowing you down? or could be the router. Theres many answers that can be given, but you need to figure out the "Main Attraction" of it all. Ohh and most of all what slows down lines are Poor Signal/Noise ratio and A High Line attenuation.

Your internet provider is tethering your connection (making your internet slower). That or you have too many people connected on your wireless network. It's one of those. Call your ISP and threaten to cancel because of your 'slow speeds'.

best of luck.
