Boyfriend seems to be logging in and out of facebook?

Well not that long ago he got an app to let his phone to connect to facebook and also we gave each other our login info. Can't be sure if this started before or after i gave him my password but it seems like hell be marked as online for awhile then offline, then on again, then off for awhile. The time always varies (sometimes he is only logged in for a minute or so and other times he's on for hours) he isnt really messaging or commenting on things and he says sometimes he just isnt online although it says he is. Does anyone know if facebook causes users to appear to jump on and offline even when they arent using the website? Or do you think he might be logging into my account or something during these times. i dont really mind if he is since i have nothing to hide but just curious. Facebooks the only way i can contact him since his phone is out of minutes (i should include he uses the wifi at his house for his facebook) so its hard to actually be able to talk to him since i cant tell when he really is or isnt online

same thing happens to me since i downloaded the app on my phone, it shows me online even when im not online

It may be due to his permanent login to facebook by mobile. Sometimes we keep log-in on facebook at mobile and it seems that we are login always while we are not there.
