i started a blog, but without a page, only posts?
will it help with search engines if i add an actual page?
and will the fact that i added the page after the posts and not before, be a problem with search engines? Ads |

It doesn't have any affect as such. Google would crawl your posts in any case. But, it is very good to make pages with the same content as well. It helps the users to go through your website in a better way.
I've implemented the same with my website called HowToRuleOnline.com Learn implementing SEO from this website. Ads |

Pages are for static information whereas Posts are for ongoing info and keep disappearing as you add a new post for a particular category.
Whether a post or page, it's how you handle SEO details for your site overall and individual posts/pages. What seo plugin are you using? |

The search spiders seem to understand the structure of major blog platforms to find all the content, remember serrch engines index and rank individual pages, not sites as a whole, I'm not sure a site map i needed for a site under 1000 pages.
Wordpress gives you the option (in the view settings?) for a Static home Page, which would be more for the users, you have to prepare by creating a page to be home and a page to be the combined post listing. |
