Does yahoo answers manipulate questions somehow in order to stop people from answering the question?
- also is Yahoo answers used by private organizations for public opinion manipulation
- and do private organizations/government organizations use yahoo answers for spreading mainstream media reports
- Is yahoo answers used for online social experiments

Sounds wacky, could be possible, just curious

i suspect yahoo manipulates the questions, there seem to be an awful amount of Y/A being reported for little reason.
Yahoo has advertisements, so yes.

NO on the manipulation of questions.

Yes, that's what advertisements do

Yes

YA is probably used as a data source by graduate students researchers in several academic disciplines. As for social experimentation, probably NOT. That's your own paranoia and envy kicking in as maturate mental self defense mechanism.

Edit: Now people are editing their QUESTIONS so previous answers look ridiculous. Askers are the one people doing the psychological manipulation so people will REFUSE to answer their questions. Psychological projection and transference at its' finest. Old and VERY boring mental strategy chess game. . CHECK!.

Yahoo! Answers would not and does not manipulate questions to stop people from answering them. Very creative idea though.

No to all the rest. We're allowed one question.

Nope they could care what you ask or what a answer is as long as it stays within the Community Guidelines.

looking at question and answer patterns and those that are deleted or reported there is a suspicion that company employees are taking a bigger more pro-active role than they admit to, manipulation by outsiders would be more difficult

good grief, it's a question/answer forum - there no conspiracy here - this isn't a government

like most websites, Yahoo makes money on advertising revenue - not a new or mysterious concept but common knowledge

Yahoo does not have anything to do with the questions that are asked on here or the answers that are given, therefore how could they prevent someone from answering - that doens't even make sense and why would they prevent people from participating when their income depends on that participation

we, the members, are all Community Moderators, and WE, not staff report violations - if a person has a high enough reporting status, they delete what they report

the only time staff are involved is when someone appeals or someone emails the Answers Team about a serious problem with a member, such as someone posting links to porn
