I recently changed a pledge on Kickstarter, will I be charged twice?

I recently backed a Kickstarter campaign that has been successful, but my main concern is that since I've changed my pledge to a higher tier I'll be charged twice. Once for the first pledge, and again for the second. I went through the normal steps via 'Manage My Pledge' to make the changes, but I just had that niggling worry that I'd be billed twice; something that I can't afford to happen. Has anyone else had this happen? Or was adjusting the pledge via Kickstarter's suggested method the right way to avoid paying twice?
