Can use of a VPN get me in trouble in UAE?
I'm now resinding in UAE. I'm from India and i didn't have problems like internet censorship in my home country. I'm pretty sure that my internet service provider (Etisalat) here can see that i'm using a VPN... Although what i'm using it for that they can't tell..
but anyways, can it get me in trouble...? Is anybody here from uae using VPN's...?
Sorry i'm a bit paranoid...

I'm not from the United Arab Emirates, but the use of a Virtual Private Network is not illegal.

There are many reasons to use a VPN. Businesses use them to securely connect offices in different locations.

No VPN is not illegal in most of the countries but if you do not violated the laws like in USA torrent downloading and file sharing is illegal and same is in UK. Similarly, in Middle east some rules has to be followed.

I know dozens of people using VPN's in the UAE for years.

Buy a good VPN.

Whatever you do don't fall for the bogus review on the so called best VPN review sites. They are all scams where the best reviewed VPN's are the ones that pay the review site the most money. Even the customer reviews on these sites are phoney.

Also fancy VPN sites with instant gratification and setup are subject to getting hacked, like purevpn did last month. Customer emails and names were stolen and used by the hackers.

Stick with a company that emphasizes security and network protection.

I’d suggest a Personal VPN service http://www.surfbouncer.com or email at info@

Used them in Dubai since 2010
