The best way to advertise anything is limited by your knowledge of the advertising method. If you break everything down into to free, cheap and costly you can get a better feel for what you want to do

SEO (search engine optimization) mostly free ways to increase your web presence. Many online articles and courses cover this.

PPC pay per click advertising on first tier search engines like Yahoo and Google. You can lose your shirt if you don't know what you are doing. Again, you can drown in the amount of information that can be found online with respect to this.

CPV (cost per view marketing) is not widely used but can be very effective. Very inexpensive relative to PPC. You website will basically be shown in contextual ad space on popular online magazines and websites like ESPN and CNN. The source site will be depended on what you are offering.

Lastly their are traffic exchanges and safelist. Thousand of people can view your site but you pay by having to view theirs
