Can I trust an eBay dispatcher?
Okay so I have been meaning to get Lanie the american girl doll for ages! And finally I have found someone on eBay that's seems to do a very good deal with the doll, four outfits, hammock, bag and laptop and other little accessories. The price is quite reasonable for what you get because brand new they are something like 110$ In the description it says she is in very good condition. I went on to look at the feedback and there isn't any! So can I trust this Ebayer!
Thank you for your time Smile no harsh comments please about me buying a doll! Smile Smile

The doll sounds interesting. However, with no Feedback listed, I would worry about whether
they would actually ship it.
Do they require payment through PayPal? That is always a good sign. I would never pay any other way. With PayPal, your purchase is fully insured. Look to see how long they have been a seller.
Click on the seller name. Are the shipping costs reasonable?

Feedback is an important factor, I have not heard of dolls being a big fraud field, like iPhones may be. You could use Google image search by example (the little camera icon) to see if the identical photographs appear elsewhere, some fakes who can't even shoot their own product photos (because they don't own it) lift them from other web sites. Shipping and handling charges may be another part of the profit.

Nobody gives a monkeys what you're buying - it's a free country!

Pay by Paypal and ensure you follow all the guidelines for buyer protection.

As others have pointed out, fraudsters tend to offer expensive goods like iphones & laptops ... so low price may well be due to fact that the seller has no feedback & few people want to 'take a risk'

HOWEVER don't believe PP will do much to 'protect' you .. PayPal is NEVER left holding a 'loss' .. so if the seller is a fraudster and escapes with your money PP will NOT 'refund' you out of their 'own pockets'

In the case of a dispute, PP will ALWAYS get the money back from the seller FIRST ... which will be OK if the seller is 'legitimate' .. plainly less so if the seller is a fraudster (yes, PP will 'cancel' their account .. which is why fraudsters have to open new accounts and why some-one with zero feedback is so suspect ..)

NB. If you are in UK, you will be charged 20% VAT + handling (typically £10) by 'Customs & Excise' (this is collected by the 'postal (courier) service before they give you the goods ...) .. on a $110 item expect to pay an extra £30 or so ..

check the seller's feedback score. If he has hundreds of positive feedback and is also showing 100% on his eBay account, then you can trust him.
