I deactivated my Facebook many months ago but it seems that it's still there?

I deactivated my Facebook many months ago and I have never logged back in since. Now it has been months after and when someone goes on and types in my name it's still there and they still have the option to send me a friend request and message. I thought that when you deactivated it your name and EVERYTHING disappears. Does this mean that my Facebook isn't really deactivated?
Also is if someone sends you a friend request or message does it reactivate it?

What can i do to get my name out of there?
