On minecraft, how can i telaport?

I am creating a quest on my account for my lil sister to try, but a lot of the quest is made up of swimming, walking, using carts, and horseback riding. It would be cool if she could simply step through a portal and go to the next destination. Is that possible? If so, which update is that on? I play on minecraft dot net, and i think the update 1.6.2; any answers would be helpful! Minecraft-dork out!

You can only teleport around with mods. NOT in vanilla Minecraft. Hope this helps!
