Where / How to market my Photography work?
I have established a great portfolio and website, had over a year's experience working as a Photographer's Assistant to an established fashion photographer.

Now where could I market myself on the internet - I know gumtree/craigslist/myspace/twitter - where else is good?

Ideally I'd like to get more work doing Actor's Headshots Photoshoots

I specialise in Fashion, Beauty, Headshots and High End Retouching
Thanks, I'm not really looking to sell prints - but to gain commissions to photograph people (or retouch others work as I am also a high end fashion/beauty retoucher)

You can always try DeviantArt.com.
You can sell prints on there and charge your own prices, I think.
Or even if you just post some of your work, it might be good to read people's comments and see what they think of your work.
I wouldn't mind seeing some as I am very interested in photography and think that might be one of my career options.
Sorry for rambling.
Anyway, good luck with marketing.
What is your website?
Hope I helped!

You could try the following sites:

http://www.alamy.com

http://www.istockphoto.com

http://www.dreamstime.com

I only use these sites to get photos, but as a photographer you may find you can sell yourself and find new business.

With Devianart, you can never delete your account if you wanted to leave.
I was a member and left, but my account is still there as long as the site keeps going.

You need to get yourself listed on all the directory sites you can.
People who are not in the business know nothing about the various portfolio sites etc and will just google or yahoo for lists of companies they need.
You need to get your website as high up these lists as possible so get as many links to your site that you can.

The only way is to get out there and meet with photography buyers. You need a good easy to navigate website to showcase your work, but you would never / hardly ever be commissioned without having at least one face to face meeting. You need to be pro active first on the phone and email and then let your website work for you - and keep it updated with new work. In a nutshell - buyers and commissioners won't look for you, you have to put yourself right in front of them. Hope that helps!
