Youtube gaming advice?
Hi,

I'm just starting out on youtube and I was wondering if there is any advice anyone can give me?
By advice I mean:
1) what equipment would a youtube gamer need? I already have the Rovio game capture card SD, a microphone, Nikon Coolpix 14mgpx and a ps3. I am getting the Xbox one in April.
Would I need special editing software? If so, which one is most affordable to does a good job?

2) how do I make my audience grow to such an extent that I can reach say 100,000 by September? If that's possible anyway. In short, how do I gain maximin exposure to my channel?

So basically just any advice you guys can give me Smile

Cheers.

Here are a few essentials:

- El Gato game recorder

- Good microphone to record commentary

- A brand identity (logo, colors, etc. Shout to me, Jeff.graw@yahoo.com, and I can give you some designers I've worked with.)

- A good intro and memorable quote (something you say at the beginning or end of every video.)

- A format. In other words, a recipe for your videos so that you are consistent and keep your following.

As far as equipment, on a Mac you have iMovie or a great upgrade to Final Cut. If you are on PC try out Adobe Premier. After Effects helps as well.

Keep social networks to a minimum and provide good content to only a select few at first. Quality over quantity wins every time.

I don't know about equipment, but if you post good videos and no one notices, try social media. Like on Facebook or something be like "hey guys this is my YouTube channel you should check it out" and then put a link. Post videos frequently, or have a schedule so that your subscribers know when to check your channel. Be your self, if your someone else in real life (you don't cuss you talk differently or anything really) then people won't like your channel because they know it's not the real you. Don't spam (it's annoying and you'll lose subscribers). If you have friends that have a few more subs than you, do gameplay videos with them, and ask them for a shoutout. That should be about it, you will gain subscribers fairly fast and I'd like to check out your channel, link?
