How does craigslist work?
Someone told me that you don't mail the items to the people, you meet them in person?

Craigslist is an online version of your local newspaper classifieds. It is ONLY for local transactions. Anyone wanting a non-local transaction can use Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, etc. When you see an ad for something that isn't local, it's prohibited by the TOU and you are expected to flag it. When several users flag an ad as probably bad, the system automatically removes it. If the poster made an honest mistake and doesn't know why the ad is bad, they get an email including directions to a FREE help forum of people that will explain why the ad was bad and how to fix it.
Craigslist is for cash, local, face-to-face transactions, just like a posting in your local newspaper or an ad tacked up on a bulletin board at a local store. You don't have to meet them at your home (Starbucks and such is popular) but it's NOT for shipping. Almost any ad or any buyer that mentions shipping is either really stupid or a scammer. The remainder are just pretty much desperate. Now, you CAN decide to accept shipping/ship an item by email with the other person in the transaction, but be aware of the risk and the potential for fake checks, fake money orders, or never getting what you paid for.
