Impressions in Web traffic term?
Hi , I wanted to apply for this advertising network and it requires a min of 100.000 impressions per month . does that mean page views or visits or unique visitors ? my site is very new and I've got like 8000 unique visitors and around 500+ visits each day . I'm guessing I'm not even a little bit close to 100k impressions ? can you explain what it is exactly ? thanks !

Impressions is just the number of times one of your pages is shown. So, that could actually even be to the same person, or limited number of persons. To get a better handle on your traffic I would suggest getting an analytics service tied to your site. I use Google Analytics. It has worked great, and allows you dive pretty deep into your traffic in a number of different ways.

Hi,
The number of times pages from your site appeared in search results, and the percentage increase/decrease in the daily average impressions compared to the previous period |

Those are views not individual visitors, some ad networks have huge traffic requirements, but there are countless other ad networks, including 2nd tier networks that would take anyone, but you may qualify for many, as well as indirect banner space brokers like buyads.com, buysellads.com and blogads.com some may take a small cut than the ad networks.
A search for Adsense alternatives will get you reviews of some perhaps lower quality networks. |
