Ebay reserve price question?

I am new to ebay and don't feel like paying the reserve price to sell it.

Will changing the starting price for bidding act the same as placing a reserve? If someone were to buy it that would be the cheapest they could get it for right?

Yes, it would.

I suggest selling for slightly LOWER than the price you want, because people tend to run up bids anyway, and the lower starting point might be more appealing.

Hello, many buyers would be reluctant to place bids if you have a reserve price which implies that you would like to sell an item at a fixed price or even above a fixed price. I would recommend listing the item with a higher starting value which would draw more bidders, or a lower starting price is the item is in high demand. A good way to determine the average selling price of your item is to go to Advanced (near the search button) -> Completed/Sold Listings, there you can easily see successful listings and their listing lengths and starting prices.

To give you a direct answer. Yes if you don't want to pay the extra fee's to set a reserve. then if you start the auction and set the starting price at the lowest you are willing to accept then if only one person bids. then yes you will get AT LEAST your stated asking price. Unless the bid ends up going higher of course.
