why does some cookies remain when I have my settings set to delete cookies on closing internet explorer?

my homepage sometimes takes a minute to load, but if I use wise disk cleaner just before clicking on internet explorer the homepage loads in seconds.
but even with that i have to manually open the cookie folder to manually delete as many as several cookies.

For one , stop using IE its crap switch to chrome / firefox and that will be so much better.

Cookies have little to do with loading times of pages as they only hold tiny bits of data.

But what they do hold could also be handling login data on your pages , settings you use on that page.

For instance some video sites remember the audio volume of your last visit and store this in a cookie.

While yea its great to delete them some times they are dab handy and screw all this privacy concern shit , honestly just wipe em every now and then not daily , unless you are up to some dodgy stuff.

Also the reason some remain is even tho you tell ie to wipe them it may send the command to do so but those files can be inuse by another app/plugin like shockwave player or flash player and it simple can not get access too them.

And another thing using those cleaner programs some of them will often tell you "you must log off" because windows will not allow it to delete files that are in use.

As for your home page starting up "faster" with no cookies course it does not have to do a few things like load the cookies , but yea that can be bad too as all the sittings in them are then lost too.
