I want to start reading DC comics! Where should I start?

I would like to start reading Flash, Green Arrow, and Batman but I don't know where to start. What are some good comics from all of them? Is the new 52 good? I looked on amazon and it is very confusing because there are so many new 52's and vol 2's that I don't know which one is part 2 of what? so if you could not only give me the names of the series but also the names of the books too that would be great! Thanks!

I'm an all around comics fan and can recommend what I know. I read Batman Detective and Green Lantern Corps comics a lot. Forever Evil has been a series now for a little while, and I've really been enjoying that.

I really like The New 52. You're going to get different opinions from everyone - some really like it, and some hate it. I would say read titles from The New 52. Don't base everything off of the negative reviews/reactions to it. If you end up liking it, then continue reading/buying it.

It's really hard to narrow it down because there's just so much content out there right now. I try and read as much as I can from the newsstands.
