Starting a blog?
I'm planing to start a blog about a disease called alopecia. I had the disease all my life and I really wanna people to realize that such thing exists. My blog will be mostly towards young teenagers affected by the disease, but I'm open to older people or people who have different problem but they still need someone to talk to. I'm looking for an advice to set me on the right track, I don't really know what blogsite to use, like I said I'm mostly adressing teens with problems so I would prefer blogs that have a lot teens, I'm also not looking for some high-quaility blog with many confusing features etc. I just want a simple blog which allows me to write, post pictures and videos. Also I was thinking of tumblr because it's mostly full of young people but I don't even know if it's a proper blog or is it something more like twitter or facebook, and even if it is, do people usually blog about such stuff as diseases and disabilities ? Also when I find the write blog are there any tips how to get people to read it ? I have many ideas ranging from topics like: what is alopecia exactly ? What effects does it have ? Depression. Self harming. I could also talk how to deal with it, for example I alsways loved listening to my fav artists who inspired me to keep going. As you see I have many ideas, this are just a few. I just need someone to help me settle on the right path Smile

if anyone wonders what is alopecia, to summerise, its a a disease that prevents you from having hair. :/

You sound like a vary inspirational person! Smile I use tumblr all the time and your right, it is full of young people, a lot of whom are familiar with the topics you have mentioned and are very supportive! It is probably the most active blogging site for younger people so you could give it a go!
At first tumblr may seem a tad confusing so if you need any help feel free to ask somehow!

To get noticed make sure you tag your posts with lots of tags! (Even if they are not completely relevant as this will help more people find you) Also message other bloggers who talk about the same topics you do, make some friends and ask for promos/shoutouts!

Also I dont know if you have ever considered making YouTube videos? Loads of people do it and you could share the videos to your blog! (If your not familiar with how popular YouTube "vloggers" are then you are in for a shock, millions of people watch them!)

Good luck with your blog! Smilex

You will be able to find some great free themes for WordPress that will be able to appeal to teens.

By using WordPress you will be able to fully control the website too, as opposed to using free providers and having to display ads and other links.

Watch the video tutorial I made below, it shows you exactly how to build a WordPress blog from scratch. Good luck Smile
