Internet speeds are REALLY slow...?
Hi,

I have a local internet provider called Clarity Connect, and I live in upstate New York. They said it was "high speed wireless internet"... I think not - http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3140354652

That is a link that should show my Ookla Speed Test results. If it doesn't show, I have a ping time of 54 ms, a download speed of 2.30 Mb/s (really???) and an upload speed of 0.90 Mb/s. The upload speed is like, amazingly slow, it takes FOREVER to load YouTube, and even sometimes general webpages, even Google! But for some reason, when I go into the Network and Sharing center to see what it says there, it says I have a *decent* speed of 65.0 Mb/s. Why does the Ookla Speed test give a way slower number? This is a problem for me because I like to play FPS games on line with friends, and it's obviously not working well. What do I tell Clarity Connect's support team? Is there any way for them to possibly give me better bandwidth? All help is appreciated.

Thanks,
E

It's probably internet connection problems. It's not something you want to hear, but just because your computer or whatever else says that you have connection, that's not always the case.

Also, NY is very active. Multiple people could be using your internet modem without your knowledge. I've had that happen to me in the past. Certain times during the day I would have very slow internet access, and I realized that it had to be others using my modem.

If, not then I would quickly contact your provider and with the issue.
