how did a stranger find out my identity through the internet?

I am a yahoo answers/flickr user. this happened to be even though i did not use my real name or give out any private information. my real name isn't in my yahoo email and i use a different email for facebook and everything else.

how did a stranger find out my real name, assuming he/she can only find it from my yahoo/flickr information?

i never speak to strangers on the internet

are you sure they knew your name or did they just send out an email to everyone named Carly or whatever it may be.. then you reacted.
Go to a theatre and yell a name, someone will respond

how about talking to your friends and just mention that you did that? or somewhere some how you googled it to friends?some where, some how you did say something about it! to someone just maybe think really hard who did you say something to and say im just trusting you not to say anything to anyone about this.
