(the picture isnt mines)okay so i have no idea what the wifi password is to our home network and i already found out THE IP ADDRESS along with everything else that i need to fill out the little columns but after that im suck..what do i do after that because their isnt a submit button on the top and it takes me back to the wifi options showing me that the network is still locked. is there a step im s missing because i cant find the answer anywhere not even on Apple which sucks.
That's sad to hear because i did the same thing on my Kindle and it worked well thanks Smile
on my Kindle there is the option of just putting in ip address the router and so on and so forth and connecting it. Trust me i had my doubts too but i put it in and it worked, the Wifi icon is on the top of my Kindle and i can go to the Kindle Shop just fine..thats why i was so confused when it came to my iPod and why it didn't work for it.

You can't do what you're trying to do. The static ip settings in your picture are for the network you're on right now, whether your cellular network or your wifi network. You can't just plug numbers into that and connect to a router. You'll need your wifi password to get access.

Your forgetting one key thing. Even if you setup a static IP which you are doing there you still need to authenticate with the router. You need to know the password. No if, and's or butt's. No password, no connection.

You can do the same thing on the apple device too and make it static but at some point it needs to authenticate otherwise what good would password protection be if you can simply set a static IP? I seriously doubt you did that with the Kindle w/o a password. Impossible
