Also if all power generators didn't work either

no, because if you store files on your computer (no where else, no network or cloud or anything, just on your computer), you dont lose them after a power outage.

Don't think so, unless there is a big giant electrical storm hitting all major data centers erasing all the data.

Hello

If the entire world lost power for an hour would we lose all internet files? No. Because smart people make back ups of their files. We probably won't lose anything. Think about what happens when you have a power failure, for an hour in your neighbor hood. Do you lose all of your internet files, or do your files stay where they are? Your files probably stay where they are.

This sounds like that sow called Revolution, except it lasts 1 hour not 18-20 years. No you wouldn't lose files. The power is what lets you turn on and access your computer, but there would have to be a virus or something to wipe out your data.

No. Files stored on a hard drive are just fine without power. Just like all the files on your computer survive while your computer is turned off, the same would be true of the files that make up the Internet,

Would we lose some information? Yes would there be some server that would not recover from a power loss? Yes. Would it take a few days (or weeks) to get everything fully functional again? Yes. Would we lose everything? No.

In fact I would be surprised if the "loses" exceeded 2 or 3% of the Internet. And most of those would be small host with no backups.

No, just because things shut down doesn't mean things would get deleted.
