switch from internet explore and back to firefox and vice versa?
some attachments do not open in firefox so I have to go to internet explorer. What is the easiest way

it's all about tweaking the favorite browser to meet your needs. As far as the attachments thing you can open them up easily with setting up default programs in the control panel and set the setting to ask you every time. Firefox is the better browser IMO.

Just install the IE tab add-on on your firefox browser...
then you can just select the link which you wish to open and open it in another tab (which will use IE OCX and settings) |

What is the type of file in question?
(If should be noted that opening attachments from anyone is very risky. This is especially true when using iE to do it, due to it's automatic action with certain file types: notably JavaScript. That is often hidden in a file to leverage iE and install malware. ) And: What versions of those do you have? ------------ Have you set your 'default' application for opening all the types of files you are having trouble with? (That's in "Control Panel".) |
