Does this method of lucid dreaming work?
I found this on a Facebook page on my news feed.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=...=1&theater

I looked at the comments and they say not to do it.
Also, what is "sleep paralysis"?

Thanks

If people say don't do it then don't. I don't know what the exact phrase means but I know paralysis is being paralyzed or unable to move. Like you could paralyze your body be damaging your spine and you won't be able to move. So i think sleep paralysis is being paralyzed in sleep or being in a coma? I don't really know so you should just look it up.

When you dream, your body paralyzes itself so that you don't move and act out your dreams in real life. Sometimes you may wake up while still in this paralyzed state and find yourself unable to move. Lots of people experience it and it can be quite scary.

I don't know what the Facebook photo says but I've had lucid dreams through sleep paralysis. You just make sure you keep your mind awake as it happens and when you open your eyes youll be in a dream.

I've tried this method and it's nothing too dangerous, but potentially terrifying. The thing is, this method won't get you to lucid dream, but will lead you to the mentioned sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis is a state in which your body is asleep, while your mind is awake. It doesn't happen too often naturally, but it does happen sometimes and there are no real risks that you'll stay paralyzed, unless you had some problems like that in the past.

What is the problem with this state is the fact you'll never ever have a nice dream in sleep paralysis. Most people who used this method noted that they saw a black man with red eyes, but I think it's mostly because they THOUGHT they'll see him, so their subconsciousness did the rest. When I succeed to do this I opened my eyes and was unable to move and my eyeballs started shaking (I don't know if I was dreaming, but I really felt like that was happening) and I saw my room, but noticed some white dots around which moved in same rhythm as my eyeballs. Then I woke myself up by violently turning around. It took a bit of effort. I think what you'll see is a personal thing, but I never ever heard someone had a nice experience with this.

If you really want to lucid dream, there are real methods to do it (google it up and read anything that involves learning to repeat habits of checking are you dreaming), but it's a long process and you'll be lucid dreaming every night after that and it will ruin your mental and physical health (not crucially, but you'll need some time to go back to normal sleep which fully restores your energy).
