Is First Financial Securities a multi-level market?
So my mother heard on the radio about this lady who was very successful in the life insurance market or something like that. She heard this on Little Saigon Radio, a popular Vietnamese radio station in my area. She told me the spokeswoman for First Financial Securities was named Ha Vy and was very successful when joining this company when she got her insurance licenses and started selling life insurance. My mom decided to listen to a seminar one night from this lady and she was really into it, I mean... really into it. She called up all her friends and family (most of which were my aunts) and asked them to buy insurance from her once she has her license. I was happy for her since she's finally going to try and get an education and earn her license but I became suspicious of this company when they sent home a packet for her and she told me she already paid 200 USD to start learning. I remember very well in my Business/Economy Finance class to be aware of multi-level marketing when my teacher talked about Bernie Madoff and pyramid schemes and told me to never be afraid to question things. So after my mother told me about her packet I immediately went online to do some research on this company and what people have to say about it. Instantly I found titles on the Ripoffreport.com and a Facebook page titled, "First Financial Security, Inc is a scam." When I saw that my eyes have never opened any bigger (for a chinky Asian like me, that means something of great importance). I really want to know from the Yahoo experts (you people reading this) because I've looked up on Yahoo answers and only found one question regarding my subject matter and it doesn't really give any details I want to know. I need to know whether or not to convince my mother to stop with this or continue on with her current goal because I am really worried about her (and our money).
