The only way to keep advertising off your Facebook page is not to use Facebook at all. But you can minimize others' access to your personal info!

To prevent hacking, make sure you don't use the same password as you use for anything else, and change your password regularly.

Don't use any of the games or widgets or other things that are made by other companies than Facebook. Don't click on anything that requires an additional permission to add to your page. Just use it to share posts and photos with friends and family.

Don't "like" the pages of products or companies if you don't want to see garbage posts about those products, or even related or unrelated products. Don't tell FB where you work or go to school. Change your birthday so it's off by a year and a day or similar. Your birthday is personal information that can lead hackers to you.

Change your privacy settings so no one but your friends can see your posts, then don't friend anyone you don't know.

Good luck!
