What's the difference between # and @ on twitter?
I don't get twitter at all. I just...I don't. I see commercials showing things like @Google or #Google for it. What's the difference?
I still don't get it. When would you use which one? Ads |

@Google for example would be someone's twitter name, their profile.
#Google is a trend Ads |

is the hashish that categorizes stuff in the trending category. Right now trending number 2 worldwide on twitter is #IUsedTo . Somebody put "#IUsedTo put so much effort into the relationships i formed then I realized some ppl aren't worth it..." so anyone who searches for #IUsedTo on twitter can see all the posts on twitter (including that one) with the I Used To hashtag.
Using @ then a username directs someone to their account. So I'll use mine, if you tweeted @Instanthockey and someone clicked it, it would go to my profile. |
