how do i make my domain name pop up more on google or other search engine's?

i have my own handyman/painting business and i created a website using vista print, i know have it on google but if i type into google ( handyman glasgow) or (painter glasgow) i want it to atleast come up my business.. i know it wont come up the first result but i still want it to come up so im getting more business frew my door lol

You have to create a website with unique and useful content. You have to wait some time to be indexed and crawled by Google search engine.

Submit your website on these sites:

1.) http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
2.) http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster

This will make your site indexed and crawled by Google, Yahoo! and Bing search engines soon.

To rank for specific keywords (like these you mentioned above), you can rank up pretty easy because for these terms competition is pretty low.
