At age 65 my cousin asked me to write 2 web pages/sites for his bus company. With no knowledge of HTML I used the internet to teach me how to do it. The program I worked with is offered by Yahoo Small business for free. Features they didn't offer, I learned to write.

The Web School/HTML offers free tutorials in php, xml, html and other related languages and features, not to mention all the support groups you can join on line.

Basically, HTML links on the net offer tutorials up the ying yang. Any specific question you have (how do I get yellow 14 point type in a sentence using Georgia, Colibri, etc.) and you'll go right to a site that will tell you the code, with practice. At the same time, If you just stick to the Yahoo Program and call Tech Support, they can help you with the easier way. I overwrote their program to the point that they said I knew it better than they did.

in other words, if a 65 year old man can start from scratch and write 2 different web pages with hundred of links and features, so can you.

Once you get rolling it can become addictive as you try to learn how to do what you see on other web pages. If you right click and select "view page source" that will show you part of what you're getting into. The web page build programs help you skip all that writing, but it's a good way to copy a feature you like, or get around a weak block.

You can also take courses at your local high school after hours programs, or enroll on-line. It all about sel-motivation, jr.

Good luck
