Currently we have Wildblue (viasat) Satellite internet and it is like $60 a month for 10GB of data. The upgrade prices are ridiculous and you don't get much more data ($30 more for 5GB extra data per month). I am used to living in a city with Comcast and never even thought about how there could be a limit on how much Netflix I could watch. I am fine with the slightly slower speeds, I have given up online gaming for now, but I cannot stand not being able to watch Youtube or Netflix videos at a moments notice. I actually have to plan to watch a youtube video because I fear it will run out and then it slows down to speeds so slow that videos will not load at all. Watching the second season of House of Cards will take up my entire months worth of data. Watching a few hours of TV(Netflix) a day will use it up in about 2 weeks, it's insane. Does anyone know any secrets (companies or better plans) that I haven't heard of? Clearwire was just bough by sprint, so that one is out.

Nope. You're stuck with satellite caps. It's highly unlikely cellphone towers in remote areas will give a good enough signal with high 3G or 4G speeds needed to stream video even if you wanted to - plus their caps are worse than satellite providers. I'm in the same boat as you, as the place I'm building will have to be satellite based for high-speed net.

My recommendation? Buy the shows you want to watch on DVD or have someone with a fast connection save videos you want using various video downloader programs out there.
