Will things become weird in real life if someone does not accept my friend request on Facebook?

I want to Facebook friend somebody I know at school. I only see him a couple of days a week because we are in different grades. However, if for some reason he declines, would it cause things to become really weird in real life? I am afraid to friend him for this reason. I don't think he'd decline, but I am worried about that one thing. And no, this is not a crush. We are both heterosexual guys, in fact, I just wanted to ask this question.

Usually ppl who go to the same school do Friend one another on Facebook, even if they NEVER see each other. I say go ahead and Friend him but make it casual by not leaving a message. Also, he might not accept ur Friend Request right away, cause u don't know how often he gets on Facebook. So if he hasn't accepted ur Request within a week, don't stress. Maybe he just hasn't logged onto Facebook yet. The way u can tell if he declined is to look him up again, and if it says "Add Friend" again then he Declined. If u can't find him at all in the search engine, that means he has blocked u. Like I said, go ahead and Friend him. I know ur worried about it making things weird between u two in real life, but u said urself that u hardly see each other. You'll never know until u try
