how the use of search engines improve studies?

I am carrying out a case study in this area and was looking for some areas people may believe search engines improve studies and working practices. E.g speed, finding sources etc.

Search engines improve my ability to study/learn dramatically. At times I wonder how the heck people operated before.

From an efficiency standpoint imagine all the time wasted going to the library (transport), finding your books, searching the book for the correct page etc. Now all we have to do is use proper key terms to get the information we need immediately.
