Do you have to pay money for text alerts from twitter?

I've been wanting to get twitter text alerts for when someone i follow posts things Just wondering, do you have to pay money for when they text you?
In case it makes a difference, I live in Australia and I'm with Optus.

Probably not. Just go to the mobile area of twitter and read everything!! It will tell you if it costs extra.

No. You don't pay for twitter alerts from the people you follow. You have to pay only if you send text to twitter. Otherwise it's all free
by d way you will be charged only once for registring your mobile number on twitter

Hey Evel, it isn't actually possible to use Twitter through SMS on Optus just yet.
