How can I get back to the very start of my twitter messages with someone?

Is there any way at all I can go back through all my twitter direct messages to about a year ago with someone?

My girlfriend and I met through twitter and we're desperate to see the beginning of our messages together which was about April of 2013, but we can't cos the messages stop at like a month ago and it doesn't let you go back?

I was wondering if there was a way to see the ones at the beginning. Maybe an app or website or anything that let you?

I think there must be a way, since police etc sometimes have to investigate way back in stuff like this. Help please

It would just make my day to be able to venture back with her!
It's not tweets I want to go back with.. It's direct messages

EDIT: Actually go to your twitter profile settings and at the bottom should be a button to download all your tweets you have ever done!
